Author of A Harrowing Journey Sailing into Danger
Desiree and her husband left New Zealand in 2007 on 39 ft yacht "Skylark II" to sail the world. By 2010 they were in Thailand and had to make a decision on how to continue, ending up across the Indian Ocean, in what turned out to be the height of the Somali Piracy. Desiree has written a book about this very challenging time, called "A Harrowing Journey" and shares her experiences with you during this talk.
