Tuesday Evening Talk - Martin Thomas
24th September 2024, 18:00 - 21:00

St Thomas Hospital was founded almost 1000 years ago and named after Saint Thomas of Canterbury. Imagine major surgery, such as « cutting for stone » (for painful bladder stones) or amputating a limb, without anaesthetic or antibiotics. Be thankful you live now and not then. Cheer for Florence Nightingale who founded the first school of nursing there.
Supper is served from 6-7pm with the talk following from 730pm.
